SPOT is 3 years EU-funded project under the Horizon 2020 programme, focused on the study of problems related to cultural tourism. The consortium is composed of 15 partners from 13 European countries, UK and Israel. The SPOT project provides an innovative response to recent problems by understanding cultural tourism across very different regions and countries and by integrating stakeholders and policy actors. The main keystones of the project are: incorporating the role of local communities, expanding the concept of cultural tourism, from the passive consumption of cultural objects to the active and interactive participation in cultural experiences, building in the role of stakeholders, developing this interactive and dynamic view not as a local phenomenon, but as a multi-scale phenomenon.
